Congratulations Andrews Obodai Sai, 1st Prize Winner in Policy Brief Competition
NICCEE proudly congratulates Andrews Obodai Sai on
winning first prize in the Student Policy Brief Competition at the 15th Canadian Agri-Food Policy Conference, hosted by the Canadian Agricultural Economics Society (CAES) on January 23–24, 2025.
Sai is a master’s student in the Department of Food, Agricultural, and Resource Economics at the University of Guelph and is currently enrolled in NICCEE’s cross-institute graduate course Emerging Nitrogen Technology & Sustainability Challenges from Farm to Fork. His research explores the financial feasibility of on-farm production of green ammonia (ammonia produced using renewable energy), and his work is driven by his dedication to developing strategies for reducing carbon emissions in both developed and developing countries. Sai received his first master’s degree at Ohio University, where he explored the Testing Pollution Haven Hypothesis in Developing Countries.
Sai is passionate about sustainable solutions in agriculture and environmental policy, and participation in the Canadian Agri-Food Policy Conference provided an opportunity to engage with leading experts and contribute to critical policy conversations. NICCEE is excited to celebrate Sai’s achievement and looks forward to his continued success.
